If, like our pointy-eared friend here, you’ve been known to flex ya brain cells on occasion. Purely for entertainment value. (Or perhaps to show lesser humans how buffed ya grey matter is)? Then this post may get your dilithium crystals in a state of excitation.

In terms of blowing one’s own trumpet…(ooer)…this post may be a little over-due. But, I’m still chuffed to announce 1 or 2 new apps…(well OK, 5 in total…kind of Spock to illustrate)…that have been released to the AppStore in recent weeks. All with a common look’n'feel and all with a logic puzzle theme. (That’s Spock’s excited face btw. I asked who was excited and his little hand just shot straight up. Honest).

Titles include: GE Sudoku (this classic number placement puzzle needs no introduction); GE Mathdoku (a KenKen® clone, kinda like Sudoku, but with an arithmetic twist); GE Hashiwokakero (a game of islands & bridges. Actually this is Spock’s favorite); GE Planarity (move the dots to untangle the web) and GE Magnets (follow the clues to place magnets with charged poles & dominoes with neutral poles).

Each app features multiple levels of difficulty; GameCenter integration, (so you can see if you’re science officer material); plus support for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. But the best news is that all the puzzles are auto-generated; so there’s no in-app-puchases necessary. You might say that: “for extra puzzles in any app…including Magnets…there’s no charge”. No charge. Get it? ;o)
