I love workin’ from home, it’s so easy to commute…
…from the bedroom to the office. And I never wear a suit.
(Hmmm…’cept that time I programmed in my birthday one.
But I…probably…shouldn’t…have told you…that).
Mental note to self: make sure the camera’s off on Skype.
Commuting’s never stressful. No connections. No delay.
I always get a good seat. There’s no crowds to block my way.
Less to travel. More to surf. (It’s the only way to cruise).
Wifi? ‘cos I want to. There’s no signal strength to lose.
Mental note to self: apply for refund on travel pass.
No brolly, ‘cos it never rains (‘cept when upstairs’ shower leaked).
With me to chose the project theme, my interest’s always peaked.
(With all the money I’m saving on shoe leather, I could…I could…
…well…I could buy a new pair of shoes).
Mental note to self: add odor eaters to shopping list.
There’s no queue for the bathroom. Or for coffee. Or for tea.
I’m closest to the toaster and the music’s picked by me.
There’s toast crumbs on my keyboard. Stacks of paper grow with ease.
But no-one to be bugged by this. I’m messy as I please.
Mental note to self: tidy up before the ball’n’chain gets home.
Forecast says it’s sun today; how’s balcony hackin’ sound?
Each motion’s: “raise”, “second”, “carry”; with no-one else around!
I get to choose the project, the schedule and the fee.
The platform, language, tools’n’shit? It’s I, myself and me.
No team below to worry ’bout, no boss above to please.
Without the office politics, my life is such a breeze.
I’m more relaxed, I’m chilled, laid back, my heart is barely beating.
No bullshit bingo needed to endure another meeting.
Mental note to self: grab a nap later; save energy for a extra big sleep tonight ;o)
