If you’re anything like me, you like to check your progress in the sales and rankings stakes, on a fairly regular basis. Well, maybe like is the wrong word here. Despite the old adage that “a watched pot never boils“; we can’t really help ourselves can we? ;o)
Of course you can download iTunesConnect for iOS, for those on the go. (Which I have and find very handy I might add). Plus, there’s always the iTunes Connect web-site itself. But I also stumbled across http://www.appannie.com/ somewhere on my web travels and must say it’s a crackin’ little site.
Not only can you keep up to date with all the stats on the various stores; in an extremely slick manner. But you can also home in on any app available; checking it’s details, daily ranking and historical ranking. But where it really made me smile, was when I took the opportunity to hook it up to my itunesconnect account. For my own apps, I could now check on sales and reviews too. All with sexy graphs that allowed me to easily track progress (or lack there-of). Plus I could even check the distribution of how many units shipped in which stores.
Having just been to the iTC web-site, I can see there’s more reporting changes afoot. Apple seem to have finally added some graphing of their own. (Tho’ performance and reliability seemed a tad flaky, whilst I was playing with it). I wait, with baited breath, to see how far they’ll actually take things. But if you’re anything like me, you like to keep an eye on the competition too. In this respect appannie seems to have the upper hand…for now.
